The move comes as an effort to expand the gaming giant’s presence in free-to-play social and mobile gaming, according to Caesars Interactive spokesman Seth Palansky.
The catalyst for the deal was the acquisition of certain World Series of Poker game assets and intellectual property from Electronic Arts, Palansky said.
As part of a new agreement, EA transferred rights and ownership of its WSOP game for mobile devices and Facebook to CIE, dissolving a previous agreement.

Mitch Garber, the former chief executive of Party Gaming who now heads up the interactive division of US gambling giant Caesars Entertainment, delivered some interesting titbits of information this week.
Caesars Interactive Entertainment is based in Montreal, where the multi-talented and well-paid Garber (he holds degrees in both law and industrial relations) now lives.
The company is in expansion mode, says Garber who just a week ago bought out part of struggling software developer Electronic Arts, acquiring 19 of its Montreal employees and the intellectual property to the Facebook and mobile game apps they make for the World Series...

That was the original vision of John English, whose company Multimedia Enterprises in 2001 began developing Sports Bet Xpress, the industry’s first sports wagering kiosk. The company, which needed partners who could help with technology, marketing and distribution, joined forces with VirtGame Corp. and United Coin.
“The original device is very similar to the ones today,” English said. “It was just a kiosk without printing devices or bill exchange. It was a stand up device with a touch screen ... and a power outlet. That was it.”
Nevada gaming regulators approved Sports Bet Xpress in 2003 under the phone betting laws.
“It was not a gambling device,” English said “The game outcome did not happen on the device and only transmitted information to where the outcome of the gambling took place, which was the casino.”

Once the company is deemed suitable, Burnett says obtaining any particular license, like, say, an interactive gaming license, would only take a matter of days. As for next steps, to operate a gaming website in the state, Zynga would also need some sort of presence in Nevada, so one option would be partnering with a resort in the state.
Given the hole Zynga is in, it might behoove the company to have a speedy investigation; the quicker the company is licensed, the quicker it can plant the seeds for real money gaming. Burnett says there is no way to expedite the process, but Zynga has the fortune of good timing. The board just finished up a few large investigations, so it has some agents dedicated solely to Zynga’s application. “The agents will put their focus on this. That’s not always the case,” Burnett says. “They might be in luck.” And someone from the Nevada Gaming Commission should know luck.

Sony plans to do this with a new service powered by video game streaming technology and cloud-based storage from Gaikai. The service will launch first in the United States and will offer a limited library of PS3 games to PS4 users sometime in early 2014. Later on down the road, Sony will roll it out in international markets, but not before enabling the service on PS Vita devices as well. PS Vita owners will also benefit from Gaikai technology by having the ability to stream PS4 titles on the device via wi-fi...

LG is adding cloud gaming to its latest smart televisions in the United States, thanks to an agreement with Ubitus. In a similar manner to how OnLive and Gaikai operate, GameNow allows various games to be rendered on company servers and streamed to the TV over the Internet, rather than being downloaded and installed onto local storage.

Put it all together, and it seems hard to believe that King’s bill would be able to overcome the obstacles that have to date stalled the Senate Majority Leader.
