Zynga's shares have been trading down 21 percent in the last six months, but as noted by CNBC, that didn't seem to have any impact on the company's board approving a very lucrative package for CEO Don Mattrick. The executive's pay this year is worth $57,814,391, and that makes Mattrick the second-highest paid CEO in the entire Bay Area behind Oracle boss Larry Ellison.

Slot machine giant Bally Technologies announced Thursday it would pay up to $100 million to acquire a social gaming company.
Bally said it would purchase Dragonplay, an Israel-based social gaming business, which is considered one of the industry’s top 10 grossing social game developers with 700,000 active daily users and 3 million monthly users.
Zynga CEO Don Mattrick has explained the recent swathe of executive departures at the company, and highlighted what he sees as a big miss for the social gaming giant, in his latest interview.
